ASSISTANTSHIPS & FELLOWSHIPS
Support for Doctoral Students
All full-time students who remain in good academic standing and maintain satisfactory progress towards the degree currently receive teaching and research assistantships and waived tuition. Premiums for health insurance are subsidized by the College of Arts and Sciences and the department.
Over 25 prestigious fellowships and assistantships are awarded by the department to outstanding Ph.D. students. These include:
- Ambrose Pendergrast Fellowship,
- David Withers Boykin Graduate Fellowship in Medicinal Chemistry
- Solvay Fellowship.
In addition graduate assistantships are offered in Molecular Basis of Disease (MBD) and Brains and Behavior (BB) research areas and include a stipend of at least $22,000 annually, waived tuition, and subsidized health insurance.
Outstanding Domestic Students may receive a Chair’s Opportunity Fellowship with waived tuition and subsidized health insurance.
Applicants interested in support are urged to apply as early as possible.
