Privacy

The information obtained here will be disclosed only to authorized persons. For example, if you chose the email delivery option for the Filter Press, your email address will only be added to our database of email addresses set up for notifying members that a new Filter Press is online. The Focus Group and database preference information will be given to the person in charge of this issue, currently this is Terry Day, our Chairman. Your member number is used to ensure that you are a member of ACS.

Filter Press Delivery Preference

Many ACS members already utilize the ACS Georgia Section website to read the current Filter Press. By using the website instead of traditional mail, members can get early notice on meetings and the section can decrease postage expenses.

Online Database

There are many potential positives for providing an online member database, but there also also several concerns (security, respect for provacy, and prevention on abuse). The logistics of this have not been fully explored. We are interested in knowing that if a safe and secure database were set up, would be possibly be interested in participating. Obviously, you are not locked in to participating, should you say yes. Some may be concerned that the information collected here will be made available should they check 'yes'. This is not going to happen. Wether you check yes or no, your name and email address will not be disclosed to any unauthorized persons.

Focus Groups

Several members have suggested a desire to have groups set up to focus on specific areas of chemistry. We would like to know if you may interested in such groups and if so, what groups would interest you. If you have an idea for a group that you think you or others might benefit from, please list it.
