HMURS Poster Session & Prizes

The Herty Medalist Undergraduate Research Symposium will host a poster session to highlight important contributions made to chemical research by undergraduates of local institutions. Prizes will be awarded to outstanding presenters and information on prizes and eligibility are given below.

As part of the mission to promote undergraduate research, the Herty Medalist Undergraduate Research Symposium will host a poster session featuring presentations by undergraduates of local colleges and universities involved in chemical research. Undergraduates interested in presenting their work should submit an abstract to our registration page during the registration period (beginning August 24th) and by the deadline on September 10, 2010. Although late posters may be accepted if space permits, they are not guaranteed eligibility for the Top Poster Prize. In order to be eligible for the poster session, you must currently be enrolled as an undergraduate in an accredited Georgia college or university and actively involved in undergraduate research with a faculty mentor.

Prizes
  1. Top Poster Awardees will receive $500 to be used to cover travel expenses for an upcoming ACS Meeting , and a one-year membership to the American Chemmical Society.
  2. Honorable Mention Awardees will receive a free one-year membership to the American Chemical Society. The number of Honrable Mention Awards varies depending on the deserving presentations and the availability of funds.
